Club Events

Level 1 Ride



This is the easiest ride level aimed at anyone starting out: beginners, younger riders or anyone who wants a reasonably shorter ride. Rides are approximately 14-16 mph average speed, and 20-30 miles in distance.

Under 16’s must have a completed parental consent form.

These rides are the first and third Saturdays of each month, leaving Don Valley Cycles at 9:30am. Experienced riders lead the group and will provide all the information and advice new and younger riders may need.

The route is posted on the Doncaster Wheelers Facebook page  a couple of days prior.

Level 2 Ride



This ride is for more experienced riders or anyone wanting a longer ride, and usually involves a cafe stop along the way. The average speed tends to be slightly higher at approximately 16-18 mph, and rides are usually 60-80 miles depending on the weather.

These rides are normally every Wednesday and Saturday from School Lane, Auckley, leaving at 9:30am.

Sunday Club Run


Departing Gresley Square at 09:15 prompt on a Sunday morning. A similar distance and speed to the Level 2 ride 

Time Trial


Doncaster Wheelers have a very active time trial section to the club. The club runs a weekly evening time trial on a Wednesday from April until September. The club use the Hatfield 10 mile circuit  (O10/1) The event is open to any rider members and none members alike all are welcome from age 12 upwards. You don't even need a TT bike as we run a road bike series too. 

Road Race


The Club has a number of riders who participate in road racing events at a Regional and National level. The club also hosts the National B Danum Trophy event as part of its commitment to the National Road Racing calendar. Held in the first week of April the event attracts a high caliber field of elite riders. 

Go Ride Club


 Doncaster Wheelers Cycling Club is an accredited British Cycling Go Ride Club. We provide a programme of activities and Go Ride coaching sessions aimed at young riders up to the age of 16 years. 

Hill Climb


The annual  Cusworth Hill climb is a fantastic social event held in July at Cusworth Hall. Open to all ages. 

Film Night


The Club run family film nights throughout the year which includes a buffet and often includes a guest speaker

Annual Presentation Evening


The culmination to the year is the Annual presentation evening. Held in December this is where we have the opportunity to meet up as a whole club and share some of the years sporting achievements.
